I’m Sarah.

After graduating college, I worked as a TV news reporter at an NBC affiliate outside of Chicago. I then retired from that life to be a stay at home mom to my three little ones. While at home I was able to rekindle my love for decorating and crafts. A blog seemed like the perfect place to share those ideas. There is inspiration everywhere, I hope you find some here.

SPRAY PAINTED MUG

SPRAY PAINTED MUG

The other day when I was making hot cocoa, I thought that my little mugs could use some sprucing up. So I cleaned and dried off the mug, put some tape on, protected the top part of the mug by taping on some newspaper and then sprayed it with some gold spray paint. Super easy and quick! If you want it just as a decoration, there's no need to seal the paint. But if you are planning to use it and wash it (I recommend hand washing only) then put the mug in a cool oven, heat it to 300 degrees and let the mug bake for 30 minutes. Turn off the oven and let the oven cool before removing the mug-to make sure the temperature change isn't too dramatic for the mug-to make sure it doesn't crack.
