I’m Sarah.

After graduating college, I worked as a TV news reporter at an NBC affiliate outside of Chicago. I then retired from that life to be a stay at home mom to my three little ones. While at home I was able to rekindle my love for decorating and crafts. A blog seemed like the perfect place to share those ideas. There is inspiration everywhere, I hope you find some here.

This year I picked a couple new recipes for my Christmas cookies. I love taking a day to bake goodies and then giving them away to friends and neighbors.

I made Peppermint Bark. For the recipe go here. This was by far my favorite thing this year. I had never made it before but I love mint and chocolate and this was pretty darn good.

I also made Turtles. For that recipe, go here. They were really easy, I would just add more carmel next time.
I found these cute little cookie containers at walmart for like $1.

My stacks of Christmas cards are sent out, my presents are bought and wrapped. I'm feeling pretty good about my Christmas preparation. I feel like I have to be prepared early because we have a reunion, and two weddings to go to over our Christmas break. So I will be packing for a week and a half worth of clothing that will include two wedding outfits, 20 degree weather AND 60-70 degree weather. All of that luggage with have to be compatible for car travel and air travel. Wish me luck!

 {these are the little return address labels I bought for our Christmas cards. You basically make a wii character of each of the people in your family, picking the hair, eyes, etc. I got them through Vistaprint, only $2 for 100 labels}
