I’m Sarah.

After graduating college, I worked as a TV news reporter at an NBC affiliate outside of Chicago. I then retired from that life to be a stay at home mom to my three little ones. While at home I was able to rekindle my love for decorating and crafts. A blog seemed like the perfect place to share those ideas. There is inspiration everywhere, I hope you find some here.

This is the first year that Jackson is in school, so the first time we are making mass valentines for Valentine's day. I made these homemade valentines with some leftover packing paper I used for my

homemade wrapping paper

I printed out and then cut up some labels for the valentines. I worried that these little preschoolers would get a brown paper heart and then just chuck it thinking that it was just a brown paper heart. I wanted to make sure they knew that candy was inside... how they open it... well... I am expecting them to just figure that out.

I cut out some hearts out of the packing paper. We stuffed it with M&M's, conversation hearts and a valentine bouncy ball.

I had Jackson draw hearts on the front of the valentine because even though I was making the majority of the valentine, I still wanted him to be involved.

I switched out my sewing needle to the double needle and sewed a double stitch around the outside. I just sewed in the tag. When I had about 3 1/2 inches left to sew, I just kept the needle in place and stuffed the candy inside the heart.
