I’m Sarah.

After graduating college, I worked as a TV news reporter at an NBC affiliate outside of Chicago. I then retired from that life to be a stay at home mom to my three little ones. While at home I was able to rekindle my love for decorating and crafts. A blog seemed like the perfect place to share those ideas. There is inspiration everywhere, I hope you find some here.

A few years ago we watch a Man vs. Food when he was in Chicago. While there, he stopped by a place called Lucky's. The sandwiches looked so good so we made a version of it at home because we lived in Utah. When we moved to Illinois, we decided to stop by there to try out their famous Chicago styled overstuffed sandwiches. They were just as delicious as we imagined.

Ingredients:
sub bun or roll (I like these portuguese rolls that I used to eat in Brazil all the time and are my favorite by far)
tomatoes
onions
french fries
coleslaw
provolone cheese
turkey slices

You simply cook the fries as directed. Put a few slices of the sandwich meat on a hot skillet. Put a few slices of cheese on top of the meat. When the cheese melts, take it off and put it on the bun. Then load the sandwich with all of the other ingredients, including the french fries and coleslaw. We also add a little mayo.

They are so good and it's always fun to eat a little taste of Chicago.
