I’m Sarah.

After graduating college, I worked as a TV news reporter at an NBC affiliate outside of Chicago. I then retired from that life to be a stay at home mom to my three little ones. While at home I was able to rekindle my love for decorating and crafts. A blog seemed like the perfect place to share those ideas. There is inspiration everywhere, I hope you find some here.

I made these felt flower pins and thought they would be perfect as a Mother's Day corsage. I love wearing flower pins, so really any day is a special day to wear a flower pin.
first. Cut two different size petals from felt fabric and two squares about 2 inches x 2 inches.

second. To get the center of the flower, fold the jersey knit fabric in half and then cut little fringes.

third. Put some hot glue on it and then roll it, roll the other one around it so that it looks like the picture below.
fourth. Put some hot glue on the petal and pinch one end.

fifth. Hot glue the petals to a piece of felt in the shape of a circle.

Layer the smaller petals on top, making sure to stagger them in between the larger petals.

sixth. Put some hot glue in the center and put the jersey knit in the middle (I trimmed the fringes of the jersey knit because it was a little too long)

seventh. I hot glued a little pin on the back and glued a little felt heart on top of it.
