I’m Sarah.

After graduating college, I worked as a TV news reporter at an NBC affiliate outside of Chicago. I then retired from that life to be a stay at home mom to my three little ones. While at home I was able to rekindle my love for decorating and crafts. A blog seemed like the perfect place to share those ideas. There is inspiration everywhere, I hope you find some here.

Do you guys have all your Christmas gifts wrapped already? I do! We're celebrating a week early because we're headed out of town Christmas weekend so that forced me to be ahead of the game this year.

I love being creative with wrapping paper. Normally, I don't try to be creative with my kids since they could care less what their gifts are wrapped in. Instead I just make sure that they each have their own wrapping paper so that they can easily see which gifts are theirs.

Here are some ideas of homemade wrapping paper for you-if you feel inclined to pretty up your gifts a little. This first one is one I made last year. I used brown packaging paper to wrap the gifts, then painted chalkboard paint on them. I then embellished them with bakers twine, gift tags, pine sprigs and of course chalk messages.  Happy wrapping!
